Purpose: An aim of this study was to show usefulness of EEG(electroencephalography) measurement for assessment of the wearing comfort of mass-productive eyewear frames such as 3D(three dimensional) or smart glasses.
Methods: Brain wave intensities of 40 subjects were measured as a function of frequency for they wore two kinds of mass-productive eyewear frames (frame-A and ?B) in random sequence. Time-averaged relative intensities of the detected ¥á-waves were compared to each other for the two kinds of eyewear frames.
Results: The time-averaged relative intensities of ¥á-waves of the frame-A were higher than those of the frame-B with statistical significance (p < 0.05).
Conclusions: The time-averaged relative intensity of ¥á-waves can be an objective index for comparative assessment of the wearing comfort of mass-productive eyewear frames.
